An astounding example combining dedication, technical know-how, and the acute eye of an architect. Clearly inspired by the form-follows-function principle, I would call this chair Bauhaus Rustikal in style.
Two long sections composed of thin walnut strips compressed together and steam bent (visually similar to a geological cross-section of rock sediment layers) seamlessly form most of the integral parts of the chair including the backrest, armrest, seat support, and leg base. The back spindles, also flat walnut strips, flow downward and scoop up again to form the seat, the direction of the lines juxtaposing those of the armrests.
The wood is rich, intense, and varied in character. Likely made by a local craftsman/dedicated hobbyist. This chair would be well suited to a living room or a large bedroom as an occasional chair; we can already imagine a sheepskin throw being a good compliment to the color and helping to attractively pad out the seat.
Restored to enhance the natural character of the wood.
