Poul Volther's disposition towards simplicity and functionalism is clearly present in this solid teak lounge chair, allowing the elegant lines and natural materials to speak for themselves. As such, it is a rare design that can find itself at home in the most modern and the most rustic of circumstances; a lofty glass condo or cozy log cabin would both be good aesthetic fits.
The robust paddle-board arms curve into a delicate bridge that connects into the back posts, which also serve as the back legs. Visually contrasting the prevalence of 90° angles in the support structure are the seat and back, angled to be comfortable and natural for hours of sitting.
Stamped "Frem Rojle, Made in Denmark" on the underside of the seat.
Restored to emphasize the natural characteristics of the teak. The straps are in good condition and concealed by a linen cloth. A pair of blue cushions with a fun speckle pattern (I really like how it compliments the seriousness of the chair) are available. If you'd prefer a different look, let us know and we'll look into new fabric options for you.
We have a second chair in our intensive care ward, so let us know if you're interested in the possibility of a pair.
