Walnut Secretary Desk and Bookcase with Backslanted Drawers and Letter Bay
Perched on high tapered legs and open top shelves, this secretary desk cuts a beautiful, floating profile and avoids the a stubby, heavy look that can often accompany multi-functional case pieces.
Sculpted torpedo pulls and rounded tabs and edges compliment the angularity of the design, the highlights of which are the back-slanted letter box and pencil drawers.
The desk portion pulls out from the top of the main cabinet bay. Interior to that is a removable shelf.
The exact origins are unknown, but the construction methods, materials, and design point to a European build, likely either Scandinavian or Yugoslavian.
Narrow enough (under 15"!) to be used in a hallway or in the awkward nooks left behind by vestigial fireplaces.
In excellent condition, with minimal wear and tear.
