Restored Drexel Parallel Highboy
Designed by Barney Flagg for Drexel, the Parallel line take its namesake seriously, composed with a series of symmetrical features starting with the curved pulls of the drawer faces to the solid walnut frame that runs across the front and back profile and straight into the legs. Where the geometry could have been a totalitarian adherence to minimalism and clean design, it is softened by gentle roundovers, curves, and the warmth of the walnut wood. Rippled, figured with birds eyes, the walnut itself is a visual highlight, making the the shape of the dresser into an attractive canvas. It also has a build quality typical of Drexel with fine details in the craftsmanship.
5 drawers in all, with cascading sizes with the smallest at the top and largest at the bottom.
Restored to accentuate the natural characteristics of the wood.
