You wouldn't be blamed for confusing this bureau for Dr. Caligari's cabinet with its curves and pointed accents warping the profile beyond normative geometries. Perhaps very apropos these times we live in, it's highly evocative of German Expressionism; the stylization is a concrete instantiation of the inner madness and reality-bending many of us may be experiencing. Sometimes it's helpful to to remember, "Ah yes, it's not just me. Everything is insanity."

On another note, it is also a gorgeous example of good craft and design, with none of its exaggerated features out of proportion or drawing too much attention away from the whole. The entire curved frame that extends from the pointed feet to the top ledge is solid walnut. Brass conical pulls and walnut tabs adorn the concave drawer faces.

In very good condition, with minimal wear and tear.
