Restored Heywood Wakefield Encore Vanity

Evocative retro-futurism that channels the utopic sentiment of the deco-era are a huge part of why we love the Heywood Wakefield Encore series! The most famous feature of the Encore set are the streamline full-length drawer pulls, but we're also fans of the rounded edges and robust solid wood frame that will keep it a functional piece of furniture for many years to come. This cute vanity comes with a full length mirror, three drawers, and a removable glass desk shelf.

As always for our Heywood Wakefield restorations, we don't follow the original blueprint to the letter. Rather, we prefer to apply our own sensibilities and make it distinctly "our piece". Whereas the original finishes have an opaque stain and a very thick lacquer, we have emphasized character of the the birch wood, and made sure all of the finish is in the wood, instead of on top of it. Birch is a naturally beautiful wood, with many figures, curls, and stripes, which we've now revealed and deepened; the piece almost appears to shift tone and color depending on the angle and the lighting. and made sure all of the finish is in the wood, instead of on top of it.

Altogether, we believe this adds an organic naturalism that compliments the contours and personality of the design, and gives it an "update" that let's it feel at home in a contemporary household. We've also given it a super-fine polish, so that it feels great to the touch!
