It's always fun to work on something new, something we haven't seen before and especially when it's as beautiful as this rare credenza and hutch combo. In the parlance of the industry, the hutch "floats" above the credenza on a set of six arched legs, breaking up what would otherwise be a monolithic tower of walnut. This kind of attention to volumetrics is important for keeping a space feeling light and free-flowing.

The main attraction of course is the curved, angled leg base on the credenza whose equine curvature is elegant and powerful. Imbued with a sturdiness that belies its delicate visage, incredible engineering and material use has kept the structure in excellent shape with no perceptible sagging despite the mass of the top hutch. Carved conical walnut pulls attached with brass hardware add some spice

We all know that only the rare individual collects china or commemorative plates these days, but that doesn't mean there isn't room to repurpose these cabinets. There's plenty of space on the shelves of this walnut hutch to comfortably house your liquor collection; those scotch bottles are design objects in themselves and worth having on display! Perhaps you also still own books - even if they mostly exist to provide a vibrant color spectrum on our shelving - succulents and the occasional ceramic object that all would rather not be stashed in a box somewhere in your basement. So whether you decide to turn this into a large curio cabinet, bookcase, liquor cabinet/bar, or some combination thereof, there's plenty of space for your ideal arrangement!

As a two-piece unit, you can always decide you would rather have just the attractive credenza base, which has 2 large drawers and two cabinet bays, one with an interior shelf, and would make a great living room console. The hutch has 6 adjustable/removable shelves.

Restored by Niji to emphasize the natural character of the walnut. Often, mid-century furniture (not just the Dania series) was covered in thick finishes and stains ostensibly to have pieces appearing more uniform for catalog purchases. We think that this flattening of the aesthetic is no longer necessary for those who love the variations in color and texture that wood has. Some minor wear may remain.
